Most of these refer to high power amplifiers for radio transmitters. These may too be called high power RF Amplifier, where RF means Radio Frequency. Other names for different frequency ranges or users are LF, HF, VHF or UHF Amplifier, Ham (Radio) Amplifier or Cb (Radio) Amplifier, (27Mhz).
If any of these are supposed to be used for FM or CW, they may be less or non linear since FM and CW does not require linear amplification. However most high power RF amplifiers are made also for AM and SSB which both require a linear amplification.
Therefore, linear amplifiers only run linear in
Class A or
Class AB. Class AB is a type of B where the tubes or transistors are biased so they are not completely off when they're not in use as in Class B amplifier.
