Mono amplifier

Mono power amplifier

Also called mono block amp. Why are there mono amps? One reason is that in an audio enthusiast view, each channel's amplifier should be separated so that crosstalk is avoided. Another reason is to put them close to each of the speakers in order to avoid long speaker cable losses and signal degradation. To avoid losses through the line cables unless these are of higher quality, each amplifier at each speaker can have a digital input connected to a preamplifier's digital output, at least for sources that are digitally recorded such as cd.
On the mono amplifier market, there are also mono tube amplifiers and mono power amplifiers.
